The "Gifu Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Hall", which has been developed as a new tourist base to convey the "Battle of Sekigahara", which is the division of the world, opened in Sekigahara Town, Gifu Prefecture on the 21st.

The "Gifu Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Hall" was constructed by Gifu Prefecture, and its opening in July was postponed due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and on September 15th of the lunar calendar when the "Battle of Sekigahara" was held in 1600 AD. It opened on October 21st.



A ceremony was held at the memorial hall to coincide with the opening, and Director Tetsuo Owada said, "We have been preparing for the opening since 2015 and have finally reached the opening. We will continue to make efforts to increase the collection."



Six descendants of the warlords who participated in the war also attended the ceremony, and Hideo Ishida, a descendant of Mitsunari Ishida, who led the Western Army, said, "The descendants are gathering together and it feels like a time slip of 420 years ago." I did.



At the memorial hall, you can learn about the "Battle of Sekigahara" with exhibits and videos. On the first floor, a video that reproduces the battle is shown on a large screen, and on the second floor, a sword related to the warlords who participated in the battle. And the excavated arrowheads are on display.



In addition, the observation room on the 5th floor of the top floor overlooks the area where the battle once fought.



The memorial hall will be open to the public from the 22nd, and admission is required by appointment to prevent infection with the new coronavirus.
