If no department in the Pays-de-la-Loire region has yet been classified in the “enhanced alert” red zone, the circulation of the virus continues to progress in a worrying manner, say the health authorities.
Including in Vendée, a territory hitherto relatively preserved by the Covid-19 pandemic.
In this context, the prefect Benoît Brocart announced Tuesday that the obligation to wear the mask would be extended to all the municipalities of the department from Thursday, October 22.

The measure concerns public space and does not apply to children under 11 years old.
The same obligation was already in force since Saturday in Maine-et-Loire and Loire-Atlantique.
In Sarthe and Mayenne, the mask is compulsory only in the main towns.
The curfew, applied in nine French agglomerations, does not concern the Pays-de-la-Loire region.
