The fifth edition of Z Event, this weekend in Montpellier, raised 5.7 million euros, a record, in favor of Amnesty International.

From 6 p.m. Friday to midnight Sunday, 40 of the most popular gamers played on the Twitch streaming platform to invite donations.

It has become a tradition.

Every year, the most popular streamers and gamers come together for a live marathon on the Twitch platform.

It's called Z Event and the fifth edition took place this weekend in Montpellier.

And the counters are once again panicked.

5.7 million euros were thus collected, much more than the 3.8 million donations recorded last year, which was already a record at the time.

After the Red Cross in 2017, Médecins sans frontières in 2018 and the Pasteur Institute last year, it is for Amnesty International that the streamers gave their all this weekend.

About 40 streaming stars gathered, although some had to participate remotely because of the coronavirus pandemic.

From 6 p.m. on Friday until midnight Sunday, everyone offered live content on their Twitch channel.

For the most part, it was about playing video games, while calling on Internet users to make donations.
