Rain and snow in northern Sichuan and other places, strong winds and cooling in northern Xinjiang

  Yesterday, there was rain (snow) or sleet in parts of southeastern Qinghai, Gannan, Gannan, northern Sichuan plateau and other places, with precipitation ranging from 2 to 23 mm; heavy rain or heavy rain occurred in southeastern Hainan Island and northwest Yunnan.

This morning, heavy fog with visibility of less than 1 km appeared in parts of western Liaoning, northeastern Hebei, southeastern Beijing, southern Shandong, and central and northern Jiangsu, and local visibility was less than 200 meters.

Stronger cold air continues to affect northern areas

  It is estimated that from 08:00 on October 20 to 08:00 on 22nd, affected by the strong cold air, Inner Mongolia, Hexi of Gansu, southeast of Qinghai, northeast of northwest China, most of northeast China, northern China, Huanghuai, eastern Tibet, and middle Sichuan will be affected. The average temperature in parts of the west, central and northern Yunnan and other places will drop by 4 to 6°C. Among them, most of Inner Mongolia, the central and western parts of Northeast China, and most of North China will drop by 8 to 12°C, and the local area is 14 to 16°C. .

Some of the above-mentioned areas are accompanied by winds of magnitude 4 to 6, and gusts of magnitude 7 to 8. Among them, gusts of magnitude 9 in the Hetao area of ​​Inner Mongolia (see Figure 1).

The Central Meteorological Observatory will continue to issue forecasts for strong winds and temperature drops at 06:00 on October 20.

During the day on the 20th, there were sandstorms in parts of western Gansu, western Inner Mongolia, northern Ningxia, and local sandstorms in western Inner Mongolia; moderate to heavy snow in parts of eastern Inner Mongolia, western Heilongjiang, southern Qinghai, and northern Sichuan plateau.

Strong winds in the eastern and southern waters of my country

  From day to night on the 20th, affected by the cold air, there will be south to southwest winds of magnitude 7 and 8 gusts in the Bohai Sea.

From the 20th to the 21st, affected by the combination of cold air and tropical depression, there will be gusts of magnitude 7 to 9 and 10 gusts in the southwestern East China Sea, Taiwan Strait, Bashi Strait, east of Taiwan, Beibu Gulf, northern and central waters of the South China Sea. There are strong winds, among which some areas of the central and eastern South China Sea can reach level 10 winds and gusts of 11 to 12.

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue sea wind forecasts at 06:00 on October 20.

Specific forecast for the next three days

  From 08:00 on October 20th to 08:00 on 21st, there were light to moderate snow or sleet in parts of southern Qinghai, northeastern Tibet, northern Sichuan plateau, eastern Inner Mongolia and other places.

There were light to moderate rains in most parts of Southwest China, southeastern Tibet, northern Jiangnan, Hainan Island, southeastern Inner Mongolia, and western Northeast China. Among them, there were heavy rains in southeastern Tibet and northwest Yunnan.

There are winds of magnitude 4 to 6 and gusts of magnitude 7 in Hexi, western and northern North China, and western Northeast China (see Figure 2).

The Taiwan Strait, the Bashi Strait, the Beibu Gulf, and the central and northern parts of the South China Sea have winds of magnitude 7 to 9 and gusts of magnitude 10; the Bohai Sea, the northern part of the Yellow Sea and the southern East China Sea have winds of magnitude 6 to 7 and gusts of 8.

  From 08:00 on October 21st to 08:00 on 22nd, some areas in northeastern Inner Mongolia, western and southern Heilongjiang, eastern Jilin, southern Qinghai, and northeastern Tibet had light to moderate snow or sleet and heavy snow on the ground.

There were light to moderate rains and local heavy rains in the central and eastern parts of Northeast China, eastern Jiangnan, southeastern Tibet, northern and southern parts of Southwest China, and Taiwan Island.

There are 4 to 6 winds in parts of eastern Inner Mongolia, southwest Heilongjiang, Liaodong Peninsula, Shandong Peninsula and other places (see Figure 3).

The southwestern part of the East China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, the Bashi Strait, and the central and northern parts of the South China Sea have winds of magnitude 7-9 and gusts of magnitude 10. Among them, the winds of the central and eastern parts of the South China Sea can reach magnitude 10 and gusts of 11 to 12.

There were light to moderate rains and local heavy to heavy rains in parts of eastern Jiangnan, southern Sichuan plateau, western Yunnan, and Taiwan Island.

There are 4-6 winds in some areas of Liaodong Peninsula, Shandong Peninsula and other places (see Figure 4).

In the southern part of the East China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, and the central and northern parts of the South China Sea, there are winds of magnitude 7-9 and gusts of magnitude 10. Among them, the central part of the South China Sea can reach winds of magnitude 10 to 12 and gusts of 13 to 14.
