[Happy Flower Opens New Frontier] Relocation in Gar County: A new home and a new job start a new life in peace and contentment
Entering the Kangle Xinju Garment and Carpet Processing Factory in Garxian County, Ngari Prefecture, Tibet, dozens of female carpet weaving workers are busy weaving Tibetan carpets. The colorful woolen threads have turned into exquisite Tibetan carpets with their dexterous hands.
On the second floor is a clothing factory, where workers are rushing to make winter uniforms for students.
In 2016, the Ali area implemented the Kangle New Home Relocation Project for poverty alleviation and built 714 housing units. So far, 706 households have relocated 2917 people.
Villagers who used to live on grazing have stable jobs and income because of this processing factory.
Up to now, the Garment Carpet Factory has trained 147 relocated villagers in total, and has stabilized 96 employees with an average monthly salary of 3,000 yuan. This has eased the difficulty of relocating villagers’ employment and improved their living conditions.
