In Tome City in the northern part of Miyagi Prefecture, the planting of this year's "Date Masamu" is about 116 hectares, which is the second largest in the prefecture.



About 500 tons of new rice from "Date Masamu" will be harvested this year, and Tome City plans to provide this new rice for each of the 41 kindergartens and elementary and junior high schools in the city.



On the 19th, it will be provided to seven kindergartens and elementary and junior high schools in the city, of which the mayor of Tome City, Morihiro Kumagai, will participate in the fifth grade classroom of Yoneyama Higashi Elementary School and enjoy lunch with 32 children. I did.



The menu includes rice from Miyagi Prefecture's brand rice "Date Masamu", soup with locally produced green onions and tofu, and fried chicken using locally produced rice flour garments.

Tome City will also provide meals using new rice from "Date Masamu" to 34 kindergartens and elementary and junior high schools in the city by the beginning of next month.
