It's time for the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat with the 100 percent Moroccan confrontation between the sports renaissance of Berkane and the Hassania of Agadir.
In this unprecedented Final Four (semi-finals and a final on a dry match) due to coronavirus, Berkane, already a finalist last year, started as favorite thanks to his experience.
Mohammed Aziz the man of the day
After a foul by Soufiane Bouftini on striker Mouhssine Lajour in the penalty area, Berkane opened the scoring from the penalty spot thanks to captain Mohammed Aziz (20th).
But if Berkane thinks he has a foot in the final, Imad Kimaoui equalizes right for Hassania Agadir in the 30th minute.
Nine minutes later, Berkane thinks he has regained the ascendancy but Mouhssine Yajour's goal is canceled by the VAR.
The two teams return to the locker room tied even if Berkane attempted eight shots including two on target against two and one on target for the opponents of the day.
In the second half, still on the penalty spot after a hand fault, Mohammed Aziz, 35, gives the advantage to Berkane (61st).
Tuesday, at the Mohammed V complex in Casablanca, will be played the other semi-final between the Egyptian club Pyramids against its Guinean counterpart Horoya Conakry.
Who of the two will qualify to face the sporting Renaissance of Berkane in the final on October 25 in Rabat?
