Crowds of worshipers performed the Fajr prayer at the Grand Mosque, for the first time in 7 months, according to what was published by Saudi TV, which broadcast the first moments of the worshipers entering to perform the Fajr prayer.

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in Saudi Arabia announced yesterday that it will receive 220,000 pilgrims and 560,000 worshipers starting today, throughout the second phase of the gradual return to performing “Umrah,” which will continue over 14 days.

The presidency said, in a press statement, yesterday, that 40,000 worshipers and 15,000 pilgrims will be able to perform the prayer in the Grand Mosque in Mecca according to the second phase, representing 75% of the total capacity, and will be allowed to visit the honorable kindergarten in the Prophet’s Mosque.

On September 22, the approval was issued to allow the performance of Umrah and the visit gradually, while taking the necessary health precautions, through four stages.

The first phase, which started on the fourth of this October, witnessed the permission of 6,000 pilgrims per day from the citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at a rate of 30% of the capacity.
