A curfew had already been decreed in Nice last April -

They fear that the “maximum alert threshold likely to lead to the application of a curfew” will soon be reached.

Saturday evening, "faced with an alarming increase in the positivity rates" of the Covid-19, the city of Nice and the prefecture of the Alpes-Maritimes asked "the police to operate patrols in establishments open to the public ".

These checks on compliance with barrier gestures "could go as far as [immediate closures]", they specify.

Without mentioning precise figures, the community and state services argue that "the figures transmitted by the Regional Health Agency [ARS] on the incidence rate, the positivity rate and the number of hospitalizations on our territory mark an alarming progression of the epidemic ”.

Signs of recovery from Tuesday

Tuesday, the last bulletin published by the ARS Paca showed that the "rate of positivity" was up sharply in the Alpes-Maritimes, passing in one week from 6.1% to 9.9%.

The "incidence rate", the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, was 116 (against 81 a week ago and 106 two weeks ago) according to Public Health France.

Since Saturday, the government has decided to impose a curfew between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. in the Paris region as well as in the municipalities of eight French metropolises.

That of Nice is not concerned for the moment.
