After Al Ahly's victory on the Wydad lawn (2-0) on Saturday, the other semi-final first leg of the CAF Champions League, played on Sunday, October 18, also turned in favor of the Egyptian representative.

Zamalek won in Casablanca against Raja (1-0).

Halfway, we are heading towards a 100% Egyptian final.

It is the “break” in these semi-finals of the CAF Champions League, half Moroccan, half Egyptian.

And at the halfway point, the advantage is clearly in favor of the two Egyptian clubs.

Saturday, October 17, Al Ahly went for a precise victory in Casablanca

against Wydad (2-0)

.

This Sunday, October 18, Zamalek was almost as happy in the economic capital of Morocco.

At the Mohamed-V stadium, the men Jaime Pacheco won on the smallest of scores (1-0).

It was at fifteen minutes of play that the meeting changed.

In the 15th minute, Soufiane Rahimi dribbled off against Ahmed Eid and was able to enter the box.

Raja winger and Zamalek defender collided.

But faced with this contact, the referee did not award a penalty to the locals.

In the process, the ax fell.

On a good cross from Ahmed "Zizo" Sayed, the Raja porter could not intervene.

And at the far post, Achraf Bencharki, recruited from Lens in the summer of 2019, largely dominated his defender in the air to smash the leather of the head and open the scoring (18th).

As a symbol, it is a Moroccan, former of Wydad, who weighed down the evening of Raja.

In the second half, Jamal Sellami's players had control of the ball but failed to secure enough clear chances against a well-organized opponent.

Despite some interesting situations, they too often miss the target, when it was not an opponent or the Zamalek goalkeeper who intervened.

Before the return match set for October 24 in Alexandria, the advantage is therefore good for Zamalek.

If the White Knights and the Red Devils of Al Ahly hold their place in the return, we will be entitled on November 6 to a first final of the 100% Egyptian CAF Champions League.

Unless the WAC and Raja turn things around.
