The situation is far from critical in Morbihan with an incidence rate of the coronavirus of 61 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Despite everything, the prefect Patrice Faure decided to tighten the screws for the start of the All Saints holidays.

Since Saturday, access to beaches and coastal paths has been prohibited between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. throughout the department and for a period of two weeks.

The measure immediately made Internet users react, much ironic about the relevance of this nocturnal measure in the middle of autumn.

Others also denounced a "liberticidal and disproportionate" decree.

The prefect of Morbihan forbids going to the beaches from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Could someone explain the interest to me?

Since it is rarely at night in the fall that there are crowds on the beaches, especially in the fall ... 🤔 # COVID19

Faced with the flood of criticism, the prefecture of Morbihan provided details over the weekend to justify this decision.

According to the prefectural services, the measure is put in place "in relation to the holiday period which opens" and aims to "prevent festive, musical or dancing gatherings in these places and over the stated period because they promote the circulation of virus ”.

"Gatherings of this type have already been observed in the past and could occur again, even if the period of All Saints' Day is less conducive to it", underlines the prefecture, adding that "this phenomenon could also occur because of the closure current of certain nocturnal festive places ”.

During confinement, the prefect of Morbihan had already made people talk about him by issuing a decree prohibiting the sale of strong alcohol in order to fight against the increase in domestic violence.

The measure ended about ten days later.
