A grape farmer in Kitami City, Hokkaido, has been certified as a national special zone, and will carry out the entire process from grape production to winemaking in the city, and wine preparation work began on the 17th.

In March, Kitami City, Hokkaido, was certified as a "Fruit Sake Special Zone" by the national government, and it is now possible to produce wine with a production volume lower than the amount stipulated by law.

Hideaki Fukada, who grows grapes in a 1.5-hectare field on the outskirts of Kitami City, started making wine using this system, and the preparation work began on the 17th.

In the morning, volunteers carefully harvested the grapes one by one.

14 employees of Japan Airlines and group companies, whose routes have been suspended or reduced due to the effects of the new coronavirus, also participated in the volunteer activities. I can do it. "

The harvested grapes were then placed in a tank.

The wine is expected to be completed around March next year, producing approximately 3000 liters and will be available for sale in June or July.

Mr. Fukada said, "I think we can make good wine with the help of many volunteers. I want to make wine with a gentle taste."
