Japan's largest vine wintering area Kagoshima Izumi Confirmed the first arrival of this season October 18, 1:02

In Izumi City, Kagoshima Prefecture, which is known as the largest wintering ground for vines in Japan, the arrival of vines for the first time this season was confirmed on the 17th, announcing the arrival of early winter.

Izumi City's Izumi Hirano is the largest wintering ground in Japan where more than 10,000 white-naped cranes and hooded cranes come from Siberia, the breeding ground, and the flying cranes are designated as a national special natural monument.

According to the Prefectural Crane Conservation Society, one hooded crane was found to have landed after 2:00 pm on the 17th, confirming the arrival of the first hooded crane this season.

Cranes first arrived on October 18th last year, which is almost normal.

In Izumi Hirano, 15,529 vines flew in last season, surpassing 10,000 for 23 consecutive seasons.

Next year, the city is aiming to register the Izumi Plain with the Ramsar Convention, which stipulates the conservation of important wetlands.

The visitors were taking pictures, and a man in his 70s in the city said, "I was looking forward to it. I'm excited because I think that one bird will come one after another." It was.

The arrival of cranes will peak in December, and it is expected that the "north return" will begin around the end of January next year.
