Five new people in custody after the Conflans attack

Five new people were arrested overnight from Friday to Saturday after the beheading of a history teacher near a college in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines), bringing the total number of people in police custody to nine , we learned from a judicial source.

Among the five new people are two parents of a student from the college where the victim worked, as well as people from the assailant's non-family entourage.

The latter has also been identified as an 18-year-old young man of Chechen origin born in Moscow, according to the judicial source.
