Spain exceeds 15,000 infections in one day.

The report of the Ministry of Health published this Friday reveals, specifically,

15,186 cases confirmed by Covid-19

since Thursday, adding a total of 936,560 since the start of the pandemic.

Of the new positives registered,

6,591

(on Thursday, 6,603) have undergone

the diagnostic test in the last 24 hours

(the rest are infected people who had it done in previous days, but who have known their positive between yesterday and today).

A third of them are located in Madrid, which once again exceeds 2,000 infections in the last hours (2,149), a community followed by the Basque Country (805) and Aragon (625).

The advance of the second wave (some already affirm that it is a third) is causing more and more areas of the Spanish geography to become confined and adopt new restrictions.

This Friday

has broken the downward rhythm of the cumulative incidence (AI) of the virus

- number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days -, as it had been falling for three weeks in a row.

Specifically, on September 25, Health notified an AI of 282 infections, to drop seven days later to 269. The report of last Friday, October 9, the incidence rate was even lower, of 258 positives.

However, the AI has increased to 280 cases, that is, to the same level as three weeks ago.

By communities,

Navarra

reaches 847 cases / 100,000 inhabitants this Friday.

Next are

Melilla

(549), and

Aragón

(455) and

La Rioja

(453), which surpass

Madrid

(451).

This community is once again below the threshold of 500 cases invoked by Minister Illa as one of the criteria to impose the perimeter closure of nine municipalities in that community and the state of alarm.

The average for all of Spain is 280.

The death toll is also worrying.

The official count has added

222 more deaths from Covid-19

since Thursday's report, so the total of these in our country rises to 33,775, in the absence of still adding the deaths in residences.

With a

death date in the last week

, Health has reported 575 deaths.

After several days in which Castilla y León headed this section, Madrid once again placed in first place by reporting 129 deaths in the last seven days.

Castilla y León, for its part, accumulates 94;

and Andalusia, 87. In addition, Castilla La Mancha adds 40;

Galicia, 35;

Valencia, 29;

Aragon, 33;

the Basque Country, 25;

Navarra, 24;

Extremadura, 18;

Asturias and the Balearic Islands, 11;

and La Rioja, 10. Likewise, the Canary Islands have nine deaths in the last week;

Catalonia, seven;

Melilla, Cantabria and Murcia, four;

and Ceuta, one.

Therefore, all regions have registered at least one death since last Friday.

Regarding

hospitalized people with Covid

, Health registers 3,298 in the last seven days.

Almost half of them, in Castilla y León (553), Andalusia (519) and Madrid (459).

Spain currently has 11,784 admitted for the virus, 92 more than on Thursday.

In this sense, Madrid is the community with the most patients (3,130), followed by Catalonia (1,915) and Andalusia (1,487).

Castilla y León also exceeds the threshold of 1,000 admitted (1,012).

On the other hand, of the more than 3,000 patients hospitalized in the last week,

214 have been transferred to Intensive Care

in the same period of time and 86 more since Thursday.

In this way, 14,510 infected people have entered the ICU since the beginning of this crisis.

In addition, Health has included this Friday in its report

the distribution of the number of outbreaks and accumulated cases

in the last week by areas.

Thus, the document states that 26.4% of the infections detected come from the social sphere and 18% from the workplace.

The relative also has a significant percentage, 11.4%.

Educational centers, for their part, accumulate 3.6% of the total.

At the European level,

Spain is second in number of infections

, with 936,560 cases, only behind Russia (1,354,163).

In third and fourth positions are France and the United Kingdom, with 809,684 and 673,622 positives, respectively.

The United Kingdom also stands out in the ranking of deaths, as it remains in the lead with a total of 43,293 deaths, followed by our country, which has accumulated 33,775 since the start of the pandemic.

France is very close and reports 33,125 deaths.

On the other hand, regarding the incidence of the virus among the European countries that have registered the most infections

, the curve for Belgium continues to rise, since it already reaches an AI of 500 infected.

The Netherlands has a rate of 416 infections;

France, 328;

and the United Kingdom, 309. Spain is in fourth place with an AI of 280 positives per 100,000 inhabitants.
