Suspected sexual assault on a child with intellectual disability Arrested former facility staff Taken with a smartphone or taken at 21:45 on October 16

A former employee of the facility was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for sexually assaulting a girl with intellectual disabilities who attended a facility in Katsushika-ku, Tokyo, and for taking a picture of the situation with a smartphone.

The person arrested was Takashi Miyamoto (44), a former employee of a facility in Katsushika Ward, which is a "day service after school" that takes care of children with disabilities.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Miyamoto sexually assaulted elementary school girls with intellectual disabilities who attended the facility more than 10 times in the office or at home from March to April last year. There is a suspicion that the photo was taken with a smartphone.

About 20 images were stored in the USB memory seized from home, and he admitted that he was "no doubt" in the investigation.

Miyamoto has been working at the facility for two years until he retired due to human relationships in August, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating it as a residual crime.
