On the eve of the establishment of a curfew in nine metropolises, and while the All Saints holidays begin this Friday, some cities hitherto rather spared by the virus and by these restriction measures anticipate an influx of visitors .

They are also putting in place new restrictive measures.

Some towns popular with tourists are worried.

To prevent the inhabitants of large metropolises, by seeking to flee the coronavirus, from contaminating other areas, some cities are in turn taking radical measures.

"We have traditionally many visitors on the occasion of the All Saints holidays, but here I think it will be a real exodus", explains at the microphone of Europe 1 the mayor of Touquet, Daniel Fasquelle, after having himself instituted a curfew for his municipality.

The councilor does not hesitate to reaffirm the essential nature of this measure: "All those who can will flee the cities so as not to have to undergo the curfew. They will meet with us."

From Saturday in Le Touquet, it will be forbidden to drive from midnight to 6 a.m.

Bars will close at 10 p.m. and restaurants at 11:30 p.m.

"We must prevent the situation that exists today in the cities, we find it here in two weeks or three weeks."

"You have to be very careful"

Restrictive measures of this type are starting to be taken in many municipalities on the Atlantic coast.

In Deauville and Trouville, in Calvados, for example, bars will close at 9 p.m. and restaurants at 10 p.m.

On the Basque coast, in Biarritz, it is planned to close the bars and restaurants at 11:30 p.m.

In La Baule, wearing a mask will be compulsory throughout the city until November 1st.

"We have a population which is able to be a little older than the national average and therefore which is more sensitive to the spread of the virus so we have to be very careful", explains Mayor Franck Louvrier who wants to protect its residents in this way. .

The fear of being the center of a new cluster does not only concern the seaside towns where there are many second homes.

It also concerns large cities: In Bordeaux for example, even if the measures have not been reinforced, the municipality calls for the vigilance of the inhabitants and of course of the tourists, who would like to escape the curfew.
