The Senate Presidency announced on Friday that eight senators had tested positive for Covid-19.

The detection of these contaminations follows a screening campaign carried out among 125 senators.

Eight senators were tested positive for Covid-19 following a screening campaign this week, according to the presidency of the Senate, and one elected official was hospitalized, corroborating sources told AFP.

"A screening campaign took place in the Senate this week. 125 senators were tested, eight were declared positive", indicates the presidency of the Senate Friday in a statement, specifying that "all the contact cases have been informed".
