A coronavirus test -

Calvados passed this Friday in a reinforced alert zone concerning the coronavirus epidemic.

The prefect of the department, Philippe Court, officially announced it this morning during a press conference, reported France 3 Normandie.

Calvados has identified 155 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants in recent days.

A higher rate at the regional level (147 cases per 100,000 people in Normandy), and which justifies the passage of the department from the state of "alert" to that of "enhanced alert".

The situation re-examined next Monday

The inhabitants of the department are already subject to restrictive measures: ban on private parties, limit the number of customers to six per table in restaurants and registration of customers in establishments.

From now on, public events will also be limited to a thousand people and flea markets, garage sales and other gatherings will be prohibited.

Drinking establishments must close no later than 9 p.m. and restaurants by 10 p.m.

In sports facilities, collective changing rooms and showers will now be prohibited from public access.

The Calvados health authorities will re-examine the situation on Monday, October 19 to find out whether a change to a higher state of alert is necessary, France Bleu Normandie said.
