A couple of herders from Osmoy-Saint-Valery (Seine-Maritime) accuses the wolf of having killed two of their animals.

On Monday, they found a sheep carcass and a dying lamb in their herd of 35 heads, reports

Le Réveil de Neufchâtel

.

According to them, there is no doubt that the wolf is responsible for the attack: “We cannot confuse a wolf attack and a dog attack.

There is no photo between the two, ”they explained to the local media.

The presence of the wolf confirmed in Seine-Maritime

Agents from the French Biodiversity Office (OFB) were notified the same day of the discovery and came to take samples on site.

This would be the fifth attack targeting this herd since November 2019 and 13 animals have already been killed.

The prefecture confirmed the presence of the wolf in the Normandy department on July 21.

A specimen was photographed in April in the town of Londinières and OFB experts then estimated that it was surely a gray wolf.
