Chinanews.com, Wuxi, October 15 (Sun Quan Yinxue) Two seemingly unrelated cases, a basket of 30 catties of eggs, and fingerprints left on vegetable leaves... Among these scattered clues, the Wuxi police "wrapped the cocoon." , Relying on the reform of the investigative case handling system and modern criminal technology, the major homicide case of 19 years ago was solved.

On the morning of October 15th, the Wuxi Public Security Bureau held a press conference to inform the public about the detection of major homicide cases in Xinan by the city’s police.

On the morning of March 17, 2001, it had just rained in Wuxi, and the ground in Jinxi Village, Xuelang Town was still wet.

On a small road not far from the entrance of the village, a bicycle fell on the ground, and a woman was lying next to him in a pool of blood. She was no longer breathing. There were obvious marks of heavy blows on the head of the woman. The crime was very brutal.

Limited by the conditions at the time, the investigation of this case has never made a breakthrough.

“I was a criminal investigation technician in the Criminal Police Detachment. After receiving instructions that morning, I and several other colleagues drove to the scene quickly.” said Fei Xuming, the current director of the Institute of Criminal Science and Technology of Wuxi Public Security Bureau. 19 years ago, as an ordinary investigator, he directly participated in the field investigation of the murder case.

At that time, Fei Xuming found a piece of fresh feces at the scene of the crime. The feces were still covered with a few leafs. The fingerprints on a leaf were in better condition, and incomplete fingerprint patterns could be seen. It is highly suspected that it was left by the suspect. .

"After two hours of operation in the laboratory, I successfully collected this fingerprint." Fei Xuming said.

It was this precious fingerprint extracted by Fei Xuming that became the strong evidence for targeting the suspect Yu Moushan.

At around 6 o'clock in the morning on May 30 this year, the owner of a restaurant in Xin'an, Wuxi, discovered that a basket of 30 catties of eggs and a box of chicken nuggets had been stolen and reported the case.

The police quickly went to the scene to deal with the police and also launched an investigation. The suspect Yu Moushan was arrested that day.

After Yu Moushan was summoned to the police station, he confessed the facts of the theft and actively made compensation to obtain the victim's forgiveness.

Because the amount of theft was not large, the police station criticized him.

"The two seemingly unrelated cases are inextricably linked." Wuxi police said, "Although the case value of the theft case is small, it is only criticized for education, but the suspect Yu Moushan None of the standard procedures such as file collection and collection have been left."

In mid-August this year, Wang Lin, a technician from the Criminal Science and Technology Institute of Wuxi Public Security Bureau, found that Yu Moushan was higher than the middle of the suspect in the Xinan area 19 years ago when he reviewed the suspect archives.

After in-depth investigations from the outside, Wuxi police confirmed that Yu Moushan was suspected of committing a major crime.

On the afternoon of August 17, the task force mobilized capable police to participate in arrests and investigations.

After careful deployment, at 12 noon on August 18, the arresting police successfully captured Yu Moushan in the workshop of a machinery company in Xinwu District.

57-year-old Yu Moushan has a grumpy temper, usually taciturn and not good at communicating with others.

Before finishing junior high school, he began to learn to be a carpenter, married and had children.

At the age of 29, he was sentenced to 5 years in prison for theft. After serving his sentence, he worked odd jobs in Xuelang, Wuxi.

From 1999 to 2001, Yu Moushan targeted single female workers to commit crimes madly because of financial constraints and seeking excitement.

Frightened by the pressure of a large-scale police investigation, he once fled Wuxi for many years to work in Shanghai, and then went to work in his current unit in 2017. Until this time, he was caught by the Wuxi police for stealing eggs.

After Yu Moushan was arrested, he confessed that between 1999 and 2001, he followed and waited for female workers to go to get off work at night in the Xinan area of Wuxi. They used sticks, hammers and other weapons to block the road and carried out robbery and rape, resulting in two deaths. The fact that many people were injured.

In September of this year, the Public Security Department of Jiangsu Province sent a congratulatory message to Wuxi, fully affirming the achievements of Wuxi’s efforts to tackle hard-hitting homicide cases.

It is reported that since the beginning of this year, Wuxi City has cracked a total of 13 local homicide cases over the years, including 3 cases of more than 20 years and 8 cases of more than 15 years; at the same time, it assisted in the arrest of 26 fugitives from other provinces and cities.
