On the night of the 14th, two houses were burnt down in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, and two people were found dead in the burnt remains.

Since it is not possible to contact the couple in their 60s who live in this house, the police are proceeding with confirmation that they are the two who died.

After 9 pm on the 14th, a neighbor reported to the fire department that a house was on fire in Iseda-cho, Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture.



The fire was almost extinguished after about three and a half hours, but two adjacent wooden two-story houses were burned down, and two of them were found dead in the burnt remains.



According to the police, Tatsuya Koyama (63), his wife Yoko (64), and his son, a total of three people, live in the house where the body was found, but after the fire, with Mr. and Mrs. Koyama. The police are proceeding with confirmation that they are the two who died because they could not be contacted.



The son and the other burnt resident are not injured.



The site is a residential area about 1 km west of Iseda Station on the Kintetsu Kyoto Line, and police and fire departments will investigate the source of the fire and the cause of the fire from the morning of the 15th.
