"Hypnosis"

The teenager Misha (Sergei Giro) suffers from somnambulism - that is, he walks in his sleep.

Concerned about Misha's condition, his parents send him to the successful psychiatrist Viktor Volkov (Maxim Sukhanov), a specialist in this field.

The young man quickly becomes attached to the doctor (in him, most likely, he sees a parental figure) and to the girl Polina (Polina Galkina), who also goes to Volkov.

One day Polina disappears, and Misha begins to think: is she a real person or a figment of his fantasies?

An interesting fact: Valery Todorovsky was prompted to shoot this tape by a story from his childhood.

As a child, he, like the hero of the film, got into a session with a hypnotist.

“Then I asked myself and came to his sessions with other patients.

Sat and just watched.

Everything that I saw there, I remembered for the rest of my life, ”said the director in an interview with the Bulletin of the Film Distributor.

The premiere of "Hypnosis" took place at the 42nd Moscow International Film Festival.

"Paradoxes"

The almanac about life in the capital "Paradoxes" grew out of the short film by Mikhail Polyakov "Time to Live, Time to Die".

In the first project, Gosha Kutsenko took part as a leading actor, but in the second he already had a hand in the script and direction.

For the first time the picture was shown at the Vyborg Film Festival "Window to Europe" in August 2019 - then it was not yet completed and was called "The usual paradoxes of nothingness."

In one of the stories dedicated to the seamy side of filmmaking, Gosha Kutsenko will appear in the form of an actor.

Also, viewers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the everyday life of parking inspectors, relationships between neighbors and unexpected meetings in Moscow traffic jams.

Dialogues have become an important component of the action: the characters talk about Russian cinema, the coverage of Moscow sidewalks, the situation on the roads and other painfully familiar things and phenomena.

Six Minutes to Midnight

Actor Eddie Izzard's new screenplay (Ocean's Thirteen, The Good Wife) was inspired by the history of the town of Bexhill-on-Sea, where he spent his childhood.

In the 1930s there was an English language school for girls.

Many of the students came from the families of the high command of Nazi Germany.

And it was this historical fact that became the plot of the film.

Izzard is also involved in the film as an actor.

He plays Thomas Miller, a teacher who becomes involved in political intrigue.

Miller speaks out against Hitler, after which he is accused of murder and espionage.

In addition to Eddie Izzard, Judy Dench, Jim Broadbent, Carla Urey and others starred in the film.

The title of the tape refers to the Doomsday clock, which metaphorically shows the predicted time before a global catastrophe that a person can provoke.

Summer'85 (Été 85)

The premiere of the new film by François Ozon was to take place at the 73rd Cannes Film Festival in May 2020.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the show was canceled, and the release of "Leta" went almost unnoticed.

Foreign critics, who were still able to watch the tape in such cramped circumstances, were modest in their assessments.

For every two satisfied authors, there is at least one who would rather not like the picture.

For example, film critic Brian Tallerico called Ozone's work "a fantastically sluggish film from a director whose work is usually imbued with passion."

“Ozone is desperate to find something interesting for himself in this love story of two young people, which turned into a tragedy.

This film begs to be compared to Call Me by Your Name, but it still fails to convey its passion and emotion to the viewer.

A very unexpected oversight for this director, ”wrote Tallerico.

Ozone's painting has really not escaped comparison with Luca Guadagnino's drama Call Me by Your Name.

Nevertheless, the only thing these two films have in common is the wrapper: the action of both films takes place in the summer in France of the 1980s, and their characters are young people of non-traditional sexual orientation, one of whom seduces the other.

"Delete history" (Effacer l'historique)

The directors of Abandoned and The Last Mammoth of France, Benoit Delepine and Gustave Cervern, have teamed up again to make a film on the most pressing topic.

His characters experience the full destructive power of the Internet: the widower's daughter Bertrand is faced with cyberbullying, single mother Marie is blackmailed by publishing a compromising video, and taxi driver Christina cannot improve her rating in the application in any way.

To solve the problems with the virtual world, the three turn to a hacker.

He offers the only solution - to delete information from the databases of Internet corporations.

But for this, the heroes will have to try.

At the 2020 Berlin Film Festival, Delete History won the Silver Bear - a special jury prize.

Vanguard: Arctic Wolves (Ji xian feng)

Avangrad is the name of a private security company that belongs to the hero of Jackie Chan.

The action of the tape takes place on different continents, and its heroes in the plot have to find a rich client kidnapped by terrorists.

There is also a romantic line in the film, but it was still based on shootings, explosions and hand-to-hand combat.

Chan has been collaborating with director Stanley Tung for about 20 years: in the early 1990s, they worked on films such as First Impact and Showdown in the Bronx.

The film "Vanguard: Arctic Wolves" became their ninth joint project.

The premiere of the picture was scheduled for the Chinese New Year, but the release was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Extreme Job" (Geukhanjikeop)

Five police officers need to track down a gang of drug dealers.

They choose the restaurant business as a cover: law enforcement officers buy a cafe next to the criminals' den.

The heroes get used to the role so much that catering becomes popular and begins to bring a good income.

Now the work in a cafe interests the police almost more than their direct duties.

This South Korean-made film grossed an impressive box office at the international box office - more than $ 100 million. You should go to the tape for the Asian flavor and light humor.
