  Four days ago, Ding Shengyu, a doctor from the Radiology Department of Manzhouli People's Hospital, donated hematopoietic stem cells at the Inner Mongolia International Mongolian Medical Hospital.

  Two days ago, on October 12, Ding Shengyu returned to Manzhouli after successfully completing the collection of blood samples from hematopoietic stem cell donation.

  It is understood that this is the 10300th case nationwide, the 104th case in Inner Mongolia, the 32nd case in Hulunbuir, and the second case of hematopoietic stem cell donors in Manzhouli.

  37-year-old Ding Shengyu is a doctor in the Radiology Department of Manzhouli People’s Hospital. She graduated from Inner Mongolia Baotou Medical College in July 2008, majoring in medical imaging, and has been working in Manzhouli People’s Hospital since then. She joined the Chinese Marrow Bank to become a hematopoietic stem cell during college. Volunteer, but lost contact due to the change of contact information after graduation.

In 2018, I saw the recruitment of hematopoietic stem cell volunteers of the Red Cross Society of Manzhouli, and became a hematopoietic stem cell volunteer again.

  Ding Shengyu's family members are very supportive of her donating hematopoietic stem cells.

"I often participate in unpaid blood donations, and my family members are very supportive of me in donating hematopoietic stem cells. If I can really save a life, I will definitely cooperate fully."

  In October 2019, Ding Shengyu was matched with a 6-year-old child with a blood disease for the first time. She informed her family as soon as possible. After receiving the support and understanding of the family, she signed the donation consent form and actively cooperated with the Red Cross staff Do all the preparations before donating.

In early November, Ding Shengyu completed the pre-donation high-resolution test of hematopoietic stem cells, and completed the pre-donation physical examination in July 2020.

  On the eve of the donation, she actively adjusted her work and rest, regular diet, strengthened exercise, and prepared to help others in the best physical condition.

  Ding Shengyu said: "I heard that my stem cells were donated to a 6-year-old girl, and I also have a 6-year-old daughter. Although far away, I am willing to do my best to help her. I hope she will be healthy and happy in the future. Growing up. At the same time, as a doctor, it is my duty to save the wounded."

  On the afternoon of October 5, 2020, Ding Shengyu, accompanied by his lover, boarded the plane to Hohhot and rushed to Inner Mongolia International Mongolian Medical Hospital to accept donation collection work.

Liu Xiuqin, a volunteer from the Red Cross Society of Hulunbuir, witnessed the whole process of Ding Shengyu's donation.

  "After 4 consecutive days of mobilization injections in the hospital, Ding Shengyu's body showed more serious physical discomfort than ordinary people, but she did not complain. She started preparations at 8 am on October 10th. Due to her thin and deep blood vessels, 7 times without success, but she always cooperated with doctors and nurses."

  The collection was formally collected on the morning of the 10th. Due to the replacement of small needles, the collection time was extended from about three hours to more than seven hours. Ding Shengyu did not eat or drink water and insisted on one posture to complete the collection of hematopoietic stem cells .

  Finally, Ding Shengyu successfully completed the donation, with a circulating blood volume of 10,800 ml, and 196 ml of hematopoietic stem cell suspension collected.

The hematopoietic stem cell suspension and the gift and letter she prepared for the children boarded the plane to send the "fire of life" to the children far away.

  "The more people join the China Bone Marrow Bank, the greater the hope for a new patient's rebirth. I hope that the volunteer team for hematopoietic stem cell donation will grow stronger and stronger," said Ding Shengyu.
