  According to Guan Yongxiang, director of the Jiangsu Agricultural Technology Extension Station, in addition to the good seeds developed by Yuan Longping's "sea rice" team, Jiangsu agricultural experts also combined the physical and chemical characteristics of saline-alkali soils, using machine-planting precise and quantitative cultivation, and early emergence of strong rice seedlings in saline-alkali soils. , Planting techniques such as slow mixing and one-time fertilization, and green prevention and control of diseases and insects have effectively guaranteed the expected success of demonstration planting. At present, 128.9 mu of salt-tolerant rice in the experimental field has entered the harvest period one after another.

“There are a lot of saline-alkali land in the coastal area of ​​Jiangsu, and many of them have similar planting conditions. The high yield of this salt-tolerant rice has strong promotion value.” Guan Yongxiang said.

  "Sea rice" refers to rice varieties that can grow in saline-alkali soils with a certain concentration.

This year, Yuan Longping’s “sea rice” team established “sea rice” experimental and demonstration planting bases in five major saline-alkali regions across the country. Jiangsu Rudong Castanopsis Fangling Reclamation Area is a type of coastal saline-alkali land in the east, and the soil salt content is between two thousandths and one thousandth.
