Paris but especially Marseille are lagging behind.

“Thank you to Rennais and Rennais for this message of hope.

We do not let anything ".

The mayor of the Breton capital Nathalie Appéré did not shy away from her pleasure on Tuesday when she discovered the results of a major survey * conducted by the European Commission on the quality of life felt by residents.

Among the 83 cities surveyed, Rennes is doing really well.

The prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine takes eighth place in this honorary ranking with 97% of inhabitants "satisfied" to live there.

The prize list is dominated by the Danish capital Copenhagen, which is ahead of Stockholm and Zurich.

Marseille weighed down by the feeling of insecurity

First French city in this ranking, Rennes is ahead of Bordeaux and Strasbourg, which show more than 90% satisfaction.

The inhabitants of Lille and Paris are below the European average, while Marseille brings up the rear with a satisfaction rate of 80%.

The prefecture of Bouches-du-Rhône will console itself by looking behind it, where Palermo, Athens, Istanbul and Belgrade bring up the rear.

Marseille is particularly weighed down by the feeling of insecurity.

According to the Commission's survey, only 46% of Marseillais surveyed feel safe when they come home alone at night, one of the worst scores in the European area.

It's even worse for the cleanliness of the city.

Rennes among the cities in Europe whose inhabitants are the most satisfied with their quality of life, according to a large survey published on Tuesday by the European Commission.

Thank you to Rennais and Rennais for this message of hope.

Rennes real estate pointed out

If Rennes arrives so high in the European ranking, it is because it is well placed everywhere.

Green spaces available, quality of public transport, welcoming city for families or the elderly, air quality, cultural offer ...

The most significant feeling of dissatisfaction seems to be the amount of rents, deemed too high by the inhabitants.

In recent years, the price of real estate has climbed in Rennes, a victim of its attractiveness.

In Paris, the situation is even worse.

Only 10% of respondents believe that it is "easy to find accommodation at a good price" in the French capital.

We still come to wonder who can give a favorable answer to this question ...

* This survey was conducted by the Ipsos polling institute from June 12 to September 27, 2019. In each of the 83 cities studied, 700 people were questioned, i.e. a total panel of 58,100 inhabitants surveyed.
