According to the OpinionWay survey for Mondial Assistance, this year only 14% of French people plan to leave on All Saints' Day.

That's eight points lower than last year.

A drop that was expected by tourism professionals for these holidays which begin on October 17.

On Monday, Secretary of State for Tourism Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne urged the French to book their All Saints holidays despite the second wave of Covid-19 sweeping the country.

He had put forward that professionals in the sector had "reiterated the commitment" to be able to cancel these vacations free of charge.

The barometer also indicates that nearly half of the people who will leave will do so within a week.

For 87% of them, this will be in France, or 12 points more than in 2019. The budget they plan to allocate to these holidays has also fallen sharply: 565 euros against more than 700 the year last and in 2018.
