At the meeting, experts said that Hong Kong should rely on the advantages of Chinese medicine resources, establish a Chinese medicine coordination mechanism, promote research resource sharing, etc., in line with the mainland, and promote the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area) to become a world-class and global An influential international Chinese medicine center.

  The DAB Legislative Council Member and Health Affairs Spokesperson Chen Hengbin said that the Greater Bay Area is rich in Chinese medicine resources and is one of the most developed areas in the Chinese medicine industry. Its development has attracted much attention.

However, there are still several problems, including the failure to take advantage of the advantages of Chinese medicine, the failure to unify the standards of Chinese medicine in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and the lack of a drug mutual recognition mechanism.

On this basis, the DAB has put forward a number of suggestions, including establishing a Chinese medicine coordination mechanism; establishing a Chinese medicine prevention and rehabilitation system; improving the Chinese medicine remote diagnosis and treatment system and establishing a common market for Chinese patent medicines in the Greater Bay Area.

  Professor Huang Tan Zhiyuan, Honorary President and Professor of the Hong Kong Association of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, said that the Chinese medicine community in Hong Kong has been committed to related work for many years, such as allowing students to study in prestigious universities or hospitals in the Mainland, training more professionals and linking with the Mainland; It is also hoped to establish the Hong Kong branch of the China Evidence-based Medicine Center, but some of the work is currently stagnated due to the epidemic and other reasons.

  She proposed that to promote the Chinese medicine industry, it is necessary to make Chinese medicine popular.

Hong Kong can learn from the experience of other provinces and regions, and promote the activities of "Healthy Culture Touring the World, Eating, Drinking, and Fun Gathering in Xiangjiang" through food culture and performing arts, so that more people can learn about Chinese medicine.
