“What My Mother Didn't Say” is the title of the new book presented by Hamdan Al Ameri, including a collection of stories and thoughts in the field of self-development, which came in the form of an address to three generations, from his mother’s generation to the generation of children.

Al-Amiri emphasized that the idea of the book crystallized when he felt that the lessons he learned from his mother were a judgment that he could not forget, and that he would like to reach the new generation in a non-indoctrinal manner, so he presented these educational messages through stories and situations dating back to the stages of childhood and adolescence.

Al-Amri explained to “Emirates Today”: “The book carries a set of messages that are transmitted from mother to son through situations that Al-Ameri went through with his mother during life experiences. He discovered them without his mother directly presenting him, so he worked to present the judgment through the stories sequentially. , To reach the reader and benefit from it ».

Al-Amiri pointed out that the book falls into 12 chapters, and each one discusses a different issue. The first chapter is titled «A dimension not far away», explaining that through it he talks about the current time in light of Corona, and how people are forced to distance themselves, with reference to how Exploiting the distance to form relationships with a deep human dimension, and adding that at the end of the chapter, he put the phrase “Your life is between distance and distance, so choose the distance, not the distance.

And he noted that there are many concepts that were established in his mind through the situations he faced in his life, and he sought to present them through the book, including that a person should not forget the merits of those who helped him, in addition to dealing with the issue of “difference and coalition”, in a chapter through which Al-Amiri calls for tolerance, Whatever the form of difference, whether in religion, thought or culture.

As for the values that largely belong to the Emirati culture and traditions, Al-Amiri pointed out that the UAE has achieved the concept of belonging through development, as the UAE has developed many things in people until belonging has become rooted in them, indicating that he presented in the book how the Federal Youth Foundation developed talents Young people by listening to them, and this in itself is one of the foundations of development that enhances belonging to the youth and children of the Emirates, explaining that this is what his mother strengthened in himself from childhood.

Al-Amiri's writing experience is not the first, as he has published two books in the past, but his preparation for this book took place during the quarantine period, as he tried to return to the past, remembering the situations that contributed to his understanding of himself more, and he worked during the month of Ramadan on the project.

Regarding the youth’s tendency to books of human development and self-development, Al-Ameri saw that the youth group is attracted to books that show the successes of some experiences and overcoming failures, explaining that he touched their interest in this approach, especially at the book launch ceremony, and that Emirati youth turn a lot to these books, considering that His book primarily targets Emirati youth.

As for the availability of reading through applications or via the Internet, he noted that printed books in their classic form do not get the popularity they used to get in the past, as the structure of society has an addiction to speed, and people have become accustomed to interactive, fast, attractive and intense content.

Human Development Books

Hamdan Al-Ameri emphasized that untranslated human development books are still few in the Arab world, indicating that the enrichment of Arabic content in self-development was a reason and motivation for him to navigate the world of writing, encouraging young people to start the writing process and record their ideas and experiences, while removing many concerns. That may get in their way, because there are always supporters of young people's ideas.

And he expected to see more youth experiences in this field, because the publication could encourage young people to present their books in this field.

He noted that he is considering launching a non-profit publishing house, whose aim is to empower young people to launch and publish their new books, and to develop them in the field of writing through workshops that provide them with all the basics.

The UAE has achieved the concept of belonging through development, and belonging has become ingrained in the souls.
