He didn't like the joke.

But not at all.

Lionel Vergnaud, the mayor of the small village of Pizou in the Dordogne, has decided to no longer rent his village hall to individuals until further notice.

And for good reason.

Last Saturday, an anniversary announced in town hall with 40 people turned into a wedding with more than 400 guests in the town hall in the midst of the Covid-19 epidemic, reports

Sud Ouest.

It was the neighborhood that ended up alerting the city council because of the noise pollution.

The gendarmes intervened to restore calm but the party was able to continue since gatherings of more than ten people are not prohibited in the Dordogne unlike in the Gironde.

But to prevent this kind of evening from being repeated, the mayor will only rent the room to associations.
