The number of new coronavirus cases in France is on an upward curve.

But this time, the new contaminations are making a significant leap: according to data from Public Health France published this Saturday, 26,896 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified in France in 24 hours.

A record since the start of the school year.

The day before, already, this number had crossed the mark of 20,000 cases for the first time.

The positivity rate for the tests increases once again to 11%.

In 24 hours, 54 people died from the disease.

Bringing the total, 32,684 deaths.

Increase in the number of patients in shifts

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care has again increased slightly.

A total of 1,456 people were in intensive care, 17 more than the day before, the highest since May.

New intensive care admissions, one of the other important indicators for monitoring the evolution of the epidemic, are on the other hand down, with 110 patients, 40 less than on Friday.
