The National Institute of Applied Sciences (Insa) in Rennes is reconfiguring itself.

From Monday, the 2,000 students of the engineering school will have to take all their courses remotely due to an outbreak of cases of Covid-19 contamination.

As of Tuesday, 88 cases of positive students had been recorded in the ranks of the school.

The management had then taken the decision on September 28 to switch the courses of second and fourth year students to distancing.

But the situation has deteriorated further with now 97 cases of Covid-19 reported within Insa, forcing management to switch all the teaching of the establishment remotely.

"All students are today considered by the Regional Health Agency as contact persons at risk and must therefore respect a period of strict isolation of at least 7 days", justifies the school this Friday in a press release .

Resumption of face-to-face classes not before November 2

To break the chains of contamination of the virus, which would have originated "in a private circle and within the residences of the campus", the management of Insa therefore recommends that its students return to the family home.

For those who will not be able to return, "isolation will be implemented within the student residence", indicates the school, specifying that a screening operation will be organized for them on Monday on campus.

The 2,000 students of Insa Rennes are therefore preparing to experience a minimum of one week of confinement since "the lifting of the isolation and / or the return to the campus site will only be possible after obtaining a negative result. to an RT-PCR test carried out from October 16, ”said the school.

The resumption of face-to-face lessons could take place on November 2, after the All Saints holidays, "if the conditions are met".
