Cluster in an engineering school in Strasbourg, the fault of a party?

The campus of the Catholic School of Arts and Crafts (ECAM) Strasbourg-Europe, in Schiltigheim, has been empty for a few days.

Since a cluster was detected by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) during a day of tests last Tuesday.

“This screening had been scheduled for a while,” explains Sonia Wanner.

The general manager of the engineering school immediately made the decision to dismiss her 500 students in distance education when she saw the number of positive cases for Covid-19.

"At the beginning, it was about forty but we are at 52 cases this morning," she explains to

But there is a serious lead: a student party that would have taken place last weekend in a restaurant privatized for the occasion.

According to France Bleu Alsace, the manager would now risk an administrative closure of his establishment.

No integration weekend or evening allowed

"It is possible that there was this party, I heard it.

But we didn't organize it.

Integration weekends or evenings have been withdrawn from our organization since September, at the request of the ministry, ”continues the director general.
