Nursing care fee Revision discussion focusing on new corona measures and securing nursing care personnel October 9, 5:14

Regarding the "long-term care fee" paid to long-term care providers, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare plans to start full-scale discussions for the revision next year, with an emphasis on measures against the new coronavirus and securing of long-term care personnel.

Nursing care fees are revised once every three years, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has put together a draft basic policy that will be emphasized in the revision in April next year.

One of the pillars is "strengthening our ability to respond to infectious diseases such as the new coronavirus and disasters."

In order to provide stable nursing care services even if an infectious disease or disaster occurs at a nursing care facility, we will consider using nursing care fees when the business operator promotes efforts to continue operations. ..

In addition, "securing long-term care personnel and innovation of long-term care sites" is an urgent issue, and the company plans to improve the treatment of staff and reduce the burden of using robots.

On the other hand, we also aim to "ensure the stability and sustainability of the long-term care insurance system."

Nursing care costs are increasing year by year against the backdrop of the aging population, reaching 11.5 trillion yen on a budget basis this year.

For this reason, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says that it will optimize and prioritize while ensuring necessary services based on the actual situation of nursing care sites.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will soon start full-scale discussions on remuneration revisions at a council made up of academic experts.
