At the pedestrian drive test in Montpellier, this Thursday -

The Montpellier University Hospital (Hérault) announces the opening of a pedestrian screening drive for Covid-19 exclusively reserved for children, up to 6 years old.

"The management of the Covid-19 pandemic requires being able to easily and quickly test suspicious subjects, said the services of the Montpellier hospital on Thursday.

Although children are less affected and transmit the disease less, it is nevertheless necessary to test suspected cases quickly, especially when they are in a community (schools, nurseries).

The nasopharyngeal swab in children requires expertise which slows down the availability of these tests to the population.

"

By prescription only

The screenings, which take place Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the entrance to Arnaud-de-Villeneuve hospital, are only carried out on medical prescription and by appointment.

Appointments can be made on 04.67.33.05.51, or on the CHU website.

The test results will be sent to the patient and the prescribing physician.

For adults, two drives are currently open in Montpellier: in the Domaine d'O car park, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., by car, and in the Pagézy room, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. at 12 noon, on foot.

The latter center will open Monday to Saturday from October 12.

These are open to everyone, and without medical prescription.
