  • Madrid: Stabilized figures, but still no decrease

One week in the month of October and

coronavirus infections still do not drop below 10,000 a day.

The report published this Wednesday by the Ministry of Health shows another

10,491 confirmed cases in one day

, a figure that represents a slight decrease compared to Tuesday, when 11,998 were registered.

In this way, there are already 835,901 infected people in our country since the start of the pandemic.

Of the 10,491 new positives reported,

5,075 came from people who had a diagnostic test done in the last 24 hours

, 1,045 more than yesterday.

Almost half of them correspond to Madrid, which totals 2,325, practically five times that of the second community with more cases in the last hours: Andalusia, which reports 473.

The death toll is

also down from Tuesday.

Health has added this Wednesday

to the global count of people who have lost their lives in Spain, which rises to 32,562.

Of course, this figure still excludes deaths in residences and those with symptoms compatible with the virus, but who did not get a PCR test to confirm it.

With

death date in the last week, Health notifies 445 deceased.

More than half of them are concentrated in three communities: Madrid (114), Castilla y León (81) and Andalusia (78).

Between the three there are 273 deaths in this period of time, they present data very far from the rest of the regions.

Castilla La Mancha and Extremadura are in fourth place with 27 deaths each in the last seven days.

Galicia registers 25;

Navarra, 22;

Valencia, 19;

and the Basque Country, 12. Likewise, the Balearic Islands and La Rioja have eight deaths in this period of time;

Asturias and the Canary Islands, five;

Cantabria and Murcia two;

and Ceuta and Melilla, one.

In this way, all the communities have added at least one death in the last week.
