  • The 8,200 agents of the department can now join associations in parallel with their employment.

  • This device is the extension of an approach born during confinement.

  • "Solidarity is the DNA of Seine-Saint-Denis," says Stéphane Troussel, president of the departmental council.

It is a “new” device, proudly reminds the Seine-Saint-Denis departmental council.

"These two days will allow me to help the association Nous aussi On a le Droit, which takes care of people with disabilities and their families," said Leïla Pinson, administrative officer in the department.

And for good reason.

Seine-Saint-Denis has just officially launched a skills sponsorship system called “agent.es solidaires”.

A device rather reserved until now for the private sector.

Thus, the 8,200 agents of the department can now commit themselves to associations in parallel with their employment and to fully invest in their mission, they can take from half a day to two days per month on their time. of work.

And this without any impact on their salary.

"An experience rich in meaning"

"This device is the result of the commitment of our agents during confinement", rejoices at

, Stéphane Troussel, president of the departmental council.

The objective is in fact to perpetuate these initiatives taken in particular via the solidarity appeals platform set up in April to fight against the isolation of the elderly and disabled in the department.

During this period 250 agents called nearly 55,000 people in difficulty to help them.

What Leïla Pinson was doing in particular.

“As professionally it was at half mast, I got involved in this mission on a daily basis.

I called people to find out how they were doing and if they needed anything.

An experience rich in meaning, ”explains the one who will continue to give time for others.

One hundred and fifty agents engaged in this experimental device

" We have

wanted to extend this state of mind so that agents can engage in solidarity action.

Whether it is for a one-off reinforcement or by going to bring their help, their voluntary work, their competence with associations which do social or educational work ”, explains Stéphane Troussel.

These associations currently include Secours populaire, Restos du cœur, Article 1, Parrains par Mille, Proxité, France Parrainage, or Un enfant, une famille.

The number of partner associations available should gradually increase.

Particularly affected by the health crisis, but also social and economic, Seine-Saint-Denis presented last July its solidarity and ecological rebound plan for the territory in which a section was devoted to this volunteering and sponsorship plan skills for community officials.

“We wanted public service employees to be able to give meaning to their mission in a period of health, social and economic crisis.

And solidarity is the DNA of Seine Saint-Denis, ”concludes Stéphane Troussel.

The device is being tested until December 31, 2020. One hundred and fifty agents have already shown interest.
