The National Assembly validates the controversial return of neonicotinoids

MEPs gave the green light on Tuesday for the temporary reintroduction of neonicotinoids in order to save the beet industry, despite opposition from environmental defenders.

The National Assembly adopted the “bill relating to the conditions for placing certain plant protection products on the market in the event of a health hazard for sugar beets”, in a formal vote by 313 votes in favor and 158 against.
