The municipalities of
Ourense
and
Barbadás
will once again be confined due to the increase in
Covid-19
infections
,
so that mobility will be restricted and only trips for work, educational or health reasons can be authorized.
This decision, endorsed by the expert committee that advises the
Xunta
on the management of the pandemic and which met this Tuesday, comes after Ourense has registered
88 new infections
by Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the
Highest rate
in the entire Community.
The clinical committee has made the decision, of which the Xunta reports in a statement, after the meeting held this afternoon to analyze the epidemiological situation in the Community.
Among the new measures adopted to contain the high spread, it has been agreed to
prohibit the meetings of people who do not live together
in the municipalities of Barbadás, Verín, O Barco de Valdeorras, as well as in the O Carballiño region, as had already been done in Ourense.
This past weekend, Ourense already considered itself on the verge of confinement due to the incessant increase in the number of registered cases.
On Sunday the new restrictions were already in force with its deserted streets and dozens of bars closed with the aim of trying to flatten the curve.
This curve, in fact, in some area of the city stood at similar figures to those of Madrid.
