[Explanation] The Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government cited the "Education Ordinance" to cancel the registration of a teacher for the first time on the grounds of professional failure.

It is reported that the teacher planned to spread the message of "Hong Kong independence" in the teaching plans and teaching materials designed.

On October 6, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam said in a meeting with the media that this is a very serious case, and that the Special Administrative Region government will continue to do a good job of guarding education in the future.

As far as I know, this is the first time that the (Education Bureau) has cancelled a teacher’s professional qualifications on the grounds of professional failure. In other words, it has affected the person’s lifelong career and the lifelong career of teaching has been affected. I know that this is something that the previous government has not done before. It may have been more “asylum” before, but today’s SAR government, we are facing difficulties and we need to use the power given to us by the law to respond to the demands of society. Will definitely do it.

[Explanation] Carrie Lam emphasized that the SAR government will not only provide resources for the development of education in Hong Kong, but also have the responsibility to guard education.

Since the "Regulations Amendment Disturbance" occurred in Hong Kong in June 2019, a large number of students have been arrested and many political activities have taken place in the school.

She believes that society should reflect on the way out for education in Hong Kong, and school-running organizations and school management should work with the Education Bureau to do a good job of checking and ensuring that immature students will not be poisoned by perversions.

Faced with a large number of complaints against teachers in the past year, Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said that the Education Bureau will follow up seriously and extract the black sheep in the education sector.

In any case, this work will continue in order to extract the black sheep in the education circle, but I am convinced that there are very few teachers who destroy the peace of education and bring politics to campus.

As always, the SAR government will continue to support the development of quality education in Hong Kong, and will also provide schools with greater guidance and support, but if there are violations (there are) violations, the (SAR government) will definitely need to follow up seriously.
