Singer Fatoumata Diawara and filmmaker Abderrahmane Sissako present, at the Théâtre du Châtelet, a contemporary opera that sets the complex relations between Europe and Africa to music.

Fatoumata Diawara

is one of Africa's greatest voices.

Singer, author and composer, she is also an actress.

She puts the full extent of her talent and her emotions at the service of a show which will soon be showing at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris: "Le Vol du Boli".

The music is signed Damon Albarn, the figurehead of Gorillaz and Blur, kingpin of the collective “Africa Express”.

The libretto and the staging is the work of

, Mauritanian filmmaker of the unforgettable "Timbuktu", film awarded to the 7 Césars in 2015. "Le Vol du Boli" is a contemporary opera which, through music, song, cinema and dramatic art tells the complex and so often cruel relationship between Africa and Europe.
