China News Service, Lhasa, October 5 (Zhao Lang) Affected by continuous rainfall, some sections of the Zhamo Highway in Tibet were flooded, passing vehicles were blocked, and many disasters such as rock falls, mudslides, and landslides occurred along the way.

  Zhamo Highway is the section from Zhamu Town, Bomi County, Tibet to Medog Town, Medog County, and is the first highway in Medog.

Medog County is the last county in China with highways.

  According to the relevant police from the Traffic Police Brigade of the Public Security Bureau of Medog County, on September 27, a mudslide occurred at K33+225 of the Zha-Mo Highway, and the roadbed and steel-framed bridge were washed away, causing traffic interruption on the road.

Since October 1st, continuous rainfall has caused the pavement along the way to be flooded and some small vehicles waded into the water and turned off.

  As of 15:00 on October 5th, the Galong Convenience Police Station of the Medog County Public Security Bureau and the Traffic Police Brigade of the Medog County Public Security Bureau have diverted 226 blocked vehicles and 690 people on the road section, and carried out 8 rescue operations. There are more than 30 trapped vehicles.

  In addition, on the 5th day, the traffic police brigade cleared rocks through construction, etc., a total of 6 times.

In the later period, the Linzhi City Transportation Bureau will erect steel bridges as soon as possible to ease traffic pressure.

  The local public security traffic management department reminded: At present, the rainy weather on the Zhamo Highway is still continuing, and landslides, mudslides, rockfalls and other situations occur from time to time. Drivers are requested to pay attention to driving safety.
