Bad breath is an embarrassing ailment.

It is also very often misunderstood.

Both your diet and the way you take care of your teeth can explain unpleasant odors.

Thus, revising a few habits can often get rid of bad smells.

The power supplies in question

We must therefore distinguish this early morning breath from real bad breath.

This can be caused by food: eating Maroilles in the morning inevitably gives bad breath.

But other foods have a longer lasting effect, such as garlic, cabbage, and onion.

It may seem intuitive, but you should know that they release what is called sulfur derivatives that you will absorb and ingest in the blood.

However, these sulfur derivatives, to be eliminated, must be secreted in the urine, in the lungs and in the respiratory tract.

It is therefore normal to have bad breath after eating garlic, cabbage and onion.

A similar effect is observed with meat.

Those who eat a lot of meat will have a high protein intake, which changes the pH of their mouth.

This will promote the proliferation of bacteria which will create dental plaque and therefore feed bad breath.

Finally, people who drink a lot of coffee tend to have bad breath since it is an astringent drink.

Concretely, this means that it dries up the mouth.

However, saliva is a very good antibacterial.

The same phenomenon is observed with the wearing of a mask, which tends to dry out the mouth and mucous membranes.

We also smell our scent a little more, since we breathe in the closed environment of the mask.

What solutions?

To fight against this phenomenon, and even if it seems stupid, you have to go to the dentist.

Indeed, dental plaque causes bad breath.

An appointment with the dentist after brushing your teeth and the use of dental floss can be more than enough to avoid all these little inconveniences.

The dentist can also detect if you have gingivitis, which is an inflammation of the gums that will cause bad breath.

Do not hesitate to chew gum, which stimulates the production of saliva. "
