The Sheikh Zayed Festival at Al Wathba returns with a season full of surprises

The Sheikh Zayed Festival will start in the Al Wathba area in Abu Dhabi, on November 20, and will continue for three months until February 20, 2021.

The festival this year coincides with the state’s celebrations of the golden jubilee of the anniversary of the founding of the State of the Union. Celebrating this occasion has prepared a season full of surprises and events that suit all family members.

It also extended the period of time for the festival to be held over a period of three months to provide visitors with exceptional experiences, in addition to the opportunity to explore the civilizations and cultures of the peoples of the world.

The Supreme Organizing Committee of the festival stated that it is preparing the final touches on the equipment of the World Cultural Festival, in which dozens of Arab and international countries will participate in a manner that keeps pace with the development and progress that the festival witnesses each year, and mimics its goals and message in the convergence of cultures on the land of the Emirates.

She stressed her great keenness to implement all the precautionary measures put in place by the concerned authorities in the country to prevent the Corona virus, pointing out that the new session of the festival will take into account the current conditions, and there will be immediate follow-up to the numerical density of visitors, and to ensure that everyone adheres to wearing masks and leaving the safety distances and the recommended physical spacing. In order to protect the safety of visitors and participants.

The Supreme Committee organizing the festival indicated that the precautionary measures to prevent the Coronavirus will include installing thermal cameras at the entry gates, and placing signs to determine the safe physical spacing distances that must be adhered to at the gates and outlets and the corridors leading to the wings and the corresponding squares on which some public activities will be held. In addition to adjusting the festival's capacity in terms of audience numbers, exhibitions, events and sales outlets, in a way that ensures the implementation of preventive measures against the Coronavirus.

It is noteworthy that the new session of the festival will witness international participation, events and educational performances, and interactive exhibitions from various continents of the world, accompanied by an atmosphere of the Emirates civilization, folk markets, traditional crafts and folkloric performances, and a review of the role of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, in building The nation and the founding of the homeland, recounting its human achievements, and the UAE’s role over 50 years in spreading the culture of peace, tolerance, love and cooperation in all parts of the world.

The audience will also enjoy distinctive experiences to learn about international civilizations through pavilions and posts that display multiple aspects of cultures and folklore, represented by the markets that are full of traditional goods and products for those countries, as well as folkloric performances and songs.
