Plan to launch "Data Relay Satellite" on the 29th of next month 14:39 on October 2

It was found that the launch of a "data relay satellite" that relays artificial satellite data to domestic base stations is planned at the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture on the 29th of next month.

The "data relay satellite" is a satellite for relaying data observed by artificial satellites to base stations in Japan, and as a successor to the "Kodama" that has been in operation for about 15 years, the Cabinet Satellite Information Center and JAXA = Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. It is planned to be operated by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.



According to the people concerned, it was found that the launch of the H2A rocket No. 43 carrying this "data relay satellite" is planned at the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture on the 29th of next month.



The "data relay satellite" will be put into a geostationary orbit at an altitude of more than 30,000 km above the equator, and a demonstration experiment will be conducted to receive a large amount of data from artificial satellites that are not over Japan. The data of the government information gathering satellites to be collected will also be relayed.
