Roerich's painting, considered to be lost, was put up for auction in London

"The appearance of this work at the auction is a landmark event for the Russian art market," RIA Novosti quotes the head of the house, William McDougall.

According to him, the uniqueness of this painting lies in the fact that it is a monumental work painted on canvas.

This canvas was painted by Roerich during his travels across Russia in 1903-1904.

The auction will take place on October 15th.

On November 17, 2019, during the auction of the Literary Fund auction house, the painting by Marc Chagall, The Bell Tower of the Cathedral in Chambon-sur-Lac, was sold for 10 million rubles.
