On October 1, People's Artist of Russia Chulpan Khamatova celebrates her birthday. She became famous for her role in Valery Todorovsky's film "Country of the Deaf", and later embodied many other vivid images on the screen. These are Varya from Children of the Arbat, and Lilya Brik from the picture V. Mayakovsky, and Zuleikha from the film adaptation of the novel by Guzeli Yakhina. One of her last significant works was the biographical drama "Doctor Liza" about the life of Elizaveta Glinka. Khamatova has been serving in Sovremennik for over 20 years and performs in other theaters. In 2006, the actress and her colleague Dina Korzun founded the Gift of Life charity foundation.
