According to data from Public Health France, France recorded 12,845 new positive cases in 24 hours, and 64 deaths.

There are now 1,232 people who have been placed in intensive care in total (against 1,198 on Tuesday).

A figure well below the levels reached during the peak of the epidemic, with 7,000 patients in sheaves in early April, but which is progressing rapidly (there were 500 severe cases in sheaves in early September).

64 new clusters

With 12,845 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed in 24 hours (against 8,051 on Tuesday), the test positivity rate remains at 7.6%, against around 4% at the beginning of September.

According to Public Health France, 64 people have died in the last 24 hours - against 59 in the previous 24 hours - and 1,235 cases of grouped contamination, or "clusters", are under investigation (with 64 more in twenty-four hours). ), including 235 in nursing homes.

The epidemic has killed a total of at least 31,956 people.

On the eve of a new intervention by the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, the indicators of the epidemic continue to deteriorate, especially in Paris, an enhanced alert zone, giving rise to fear of an additional turn of the screw.

The positivity rate in Ile-de-France now reaches 10.6%, above the national figure.
