In Rouen (Seine-Maritime), an association which works to find a roof for people of young adult migrants in France has just launched a crowdfunding campaign on the platform "Les Petites Pierres".

This operation consists in collecting funds which will then be used to pay the first rent or the deposit of these young undocumented migrants, reports

Le Parisien

Young people "unable to find housing"

Initially, Welcome Rouen Métropole wanted to obtain 10,000 euros in 90 days and this objective was quickly achieved.

From now on, the association aims for the sum of 20,000 euros.

“It's a drop of water, but we cannot ignore the situation.

They want to integrate and the Normans must show their solidarity.

The epidemic complicates the situation, it is difficult to take stock, but the situation continues to be dramatic for these young people, ”said Adriana Machado Masse, of Welcome Rouen Métropole,

to Le Parisien

.

This operation therefore aims to help these young adult migrants who find themselves "unable to find accommodation and continue their studies, because for that you need a residence permit".

And for good reason, without this card that “the prefecture is taking more and more time to […] deliver”, according to the volunteer, these young people cannot claim aid or devices allowing them to have a home.
