TF1 formalizes the return in October of its show "Mask Singer", where jurors and spectators must guess who are the stars who sing hidden under costumes.

This second season is promised by the chain as more surprising than the first, criticized for the weakness of its cast of mystery celebrities.

It's a show that talked about masks before everyone else:

Mask Singer is

back on TF1.

The channel formalized Tuesday the return of the masked song contest for October 17.

Incidentally, "the front page" changes the programming of the show.

Season 1 was indeed offered last year on Friday, it will be broadcast this year on Saturday, so as not to delay the new season of

Koh-Lanta.

Strengthening a cast deemed too weak

The principle of

Mask Singer

does not change: jurors-investigators and spectators must guess who are the stars who sing hidden under costumes.

The team also remains the same: Jarry, Alessandra Sublet, Kev Adams and Anggun will be back to investigate, and Camille Combal will once again be in charge of the show.

The main change should be the cast of mystery celebrities, the number one stake in legitimizing the show.

Season 1 of the show had indeed received some criticism, targeting the low notoriety of costumed singers.

An observation that even Kev Adams partly agrees with.

"The aim of the show is to have fun guessing who is under the mask," recalls the comedian.

"I understand that some may have been disappointed when they discovered who was under the mask. I myself have sometimes been disappointed. But what takes over is all the same the pleasure of looking. TV evenings like that, which gives people talk, debate and information. "

The promise of stars for young people, including an international

On the TF1 side, we do not share the impression of Kev Adams.

But we recognize that there was an axis of improvement on the casting, as explained by Rémi Faure, director of the channel's flow programs.

"I think last year's 12s were very well known, undoubtedly," he insists first.

"On the other hand, we were perhaps missing one or two, or three personalities who speak to the youngest. It's true that Mask Singer is a program that, on children and young people, has quite extraordinary audiences."

TF1 also promises a secret (and international) boot in its cast, which has not left the jury-investigators Camille Combal, Alessandra Sublet and Kev Adams indifferent.

"It's someone that I love, so I was too happy", ecstatic Camille Combal without revealing the identity, of course.

"This international star really marked me", continues the host.

An excitement shared by Kev Adams: "I have the impression that TF1 has a bit of its bag of international stars, in which the channel picks up, always the same. Like Kylie Minogue, guest of 17 NRJ Music Awards. But there for the blow. , without telling you too much, I was very surprised. I was even a little on the ass. It gives the program a lot of credit. "

"It gave a turning point to this show. You're going to be 'wow'," even promises Alessandra Sublet.

Viewers' verdict kicks off with the season premiere on Saturday, October 17.
